Investigation into murder of GPHA Public Affairs Manager begins in earnest

The police in Afienya has begun investigations into the death of the Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Mrs Josephine Asante.

The deceased was found stabbed to death on Sunday dawn at her residence at the Emef Estate in Afienya near Tema.

The 49-year-old mother was said to to be living in her house with her son and a houseboy at the time of the incident.

The deceased was in a pool of blood in her bedroom Sunday dawn. Her 12-year-old boy called for help when he woke up and found the mother motionless not responding to calls to wake up.

Police indicates no valuables were picked by the alleged killers.

The body has since been deposited at the police morgue.

Security has been beefed up at the residence as people troop in to sympathize with family members.

Mrs Josephine Asante was very instrumental in organizing a dinner dance and party for her colleagues senior staff Saturday before she was allegedly killed.

She was survived by a husband and a son.
