Drunkard allegedly poisoned through alcohol during naming ceremony

A man, believed to be in his early 30s, has allegedly been poisoned to death by friends during a naming ceremony in Ajumako Abrofoa, within the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.

A report gathered by Kasapa News’ Yaw Boagyan revealed that the deceased, Kojo Aquaye, was invited by friends to a naming ceremony, after which a party was held. He was served food and drinks in a room, and immediately after consuming them, he collapsed, and foamy water began emanating from his mouth, leading eyewitnesses to suspect poisoning.

The victim was rushed to the Ajumako District Government Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

It was disclosed at the hospital that his intestines had been severely damaged, which led people to suspect that he had consumed a poisonous substance.

Some residents alleged that the now-deceased had a history of stealing people’s belongings when intoxicated, leading to suspicions that he was poisoned to put an end to his acts of theft.

The case has been reported to the Ajumako District Police Command for further investigation.

The body has been deposited at the Etuafoa Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
