Ghanaians gather in large numbers at Black Stars Square for Mahama’s swearing-in

Thousands of Ghanaians, particularly, supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have assembled at the Black Stars Square in anticipation of the swearing-in ceremony for President-elect John Dramani Mahama and Vice President-elect Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

The highly anticipated inaugural ceremony, set to begin at 10 a.m., has garnered international attention and will be attended by several Heads of State, dignitaries, and members of the public.

This historic event will mark a significant milestone for Ghana, as it swears in its first female Vice President in the Fourth Republic.

Exclusive footage captured by GhanaWeb at the event shows supporters already seated in the general stands as early as 5 a.m., while other guests continue to arrive. The event grounds also appear to be fully prepared for the occasion.

The Ministry of Information has confirmed that 21 Heads of State, three Vice Presidents, four Ministers, and 24 envoys will be present at the event.
