Audio: Mysterious deaths hit sheep at Kwasibourkrom

Residents in Kwasibourkrom in the Jaman South municipal in the Brong Ahafo region are leaving in fear as an unknown animal has raided their town, killing other animals in the town.

Speaking to Adom News, residents revealed the attack has already led to the death of 10 sheep, leaving five others injured as at last night.

The residents, explaining how the animals were attacked, said they only came to the town at night.

“The first time we heard the sound, we thought it was the soldiers in the town who were on patrol but we heard the dogs bark continuously with none able to get close to the animal. The strange animal pulls out the intestines of the sheep and eats their liver,” a resident narrated.

But Chief of Kwasibourkrom, Nana Ampabeng Kyeremeh Odikro, has attributed the mystery to their failure to adhere to an annual sheep or goat and liquor rituals of the town.

“I believe it was because of an annual ritual we didn’t perform when the time was due because these things started after about three days of not performing the ritual but it wasn’t intentional so if we have, in any way, offended the gods of the town, we will perform the rituals”.

The chief is, therefore, pleading with the residents in the town to calm down as he works with the elders to consult their ancestors about the mystery
