Woman, 44, poisons husband to death

 

A 44-year-old woman, Auntie Ama, has allegedly poisoned her husband, Mr Alfred Yankey, 50, to death over negligence of responsibility.

The suspect is said to have poisoned the husband because he was not taking care of her and their four children. Rainbow Radio’s Christopher Anto told Nyankonton My Nsem that, the husband according to the suspect, was not providing the family money for upkeep.

He also indicated that although Mr Yankey was a farmer, and a professional teacher at Sefwi Benchemaa Nkatieso D/A primary school at Sefwi District, and received monthly allowance, he never provided for his family.

The frustrated woman is said to have poisoned the food she prepared for the husband, and gave to him to eat after he returned from work. The husband started complaining of stomach ache after consuming the food upon returning from work on Wednesday.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital and doctors confirmed he was poisoned. The body has been deposited at the Juaboso Hospital morgue awaiting autoposy.

The late Yankey left behind 8 bedroom apartment, three different farms and other landing properties. The suspect has been arrested by the police and assisting them with investigation.
