Supporters unhappy about team’s inability to keep clean sheets – Kotoko supporters chief

National Circles Chairman of Asante Kotoko Kweku Amponsah has stated that the supporters were not happy about the goal the team conceded against ZESCO United on matchday two of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.4

The Porcupine Warriors needed two first half goals from Kwame Bonsu and Emmanuel Gyamfi to record maiden win of the campaign.

But the home team were on tenterhooks for the last 15 minutes of the game when the Zambian champions came into the game strongly.

Ghanaian striker Rahim Osmanu climbed off the bench to pull one back and was denied the equalizer by some brave goalkeeping from Felix Annan in the 88th minute.

According to Amponsah, the manner at which the goal was scored was very bad and they are calling on the technical team to work on the defense – Asante Kotoko have conceded in all their games played so far in the competition apart from the away draw to Kariobangi Sharks.

“The manner in which Kotoko conceded that goal was very bad. We the supporters are not happy about. We shouldn’t have conceded that goal,” he told Happy FM.

He added, “We are voicing out for the technical team to work on our defense because conceding these kinds of goals is worrisome. We want to win all our home games with clean sheets.”
