Strained relationship between Domelevo and Osafo-Maafo cause of his ‘sack’ – Avedzi claims«

The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and the Member of Parliament(MP) for Ketu North, James Klutse Avedzi, has said that the strained relationship between the Auditor-General, Daniel Domelovo, and Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo was the main reason behind the exit of Mr. Domelovo.

According to him, issues between him and Mr. Osafo-Maafo over the Kroll Associates contract resulted in such hard decision against the Auditor-General by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

“I think that what I meant has been confirmed by Mr. Domelovo, and we also had the same suspicion. It is because of what is happening between him and the senior minister for the Kroll contract. If that is the case, why has Mr. Domelovo been also directed by the lawyers to submit certain documents for the Kroll contract”, he told an Accra based radio station, monitored by MyNewsGh.com

“By kicking Mr. Domelovo from the office, you might want to cover up”, he expressed unhappiness.

Mr. Klutse Avedzi pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to rescind his decision and call back Mr. Domelovo to work in order to save the country from suspected looters.

“I want to say that I completely agree with Mr. Domelovo. He also indicated that he started his annual leave for 2020, so let’s the President reconsider the position, and the issue raised by Mr. Domelovo looked into the latter”, he advised.

The Public Accounts Committee Chairman, however, said “because Mr. Domelovo posed a question to the President, who are the other people that the President directed to proceed on leave, who are in the same capacity, the same position? If answers can be given to this question, then the President position can be justified.”
