Rescue operation dey go on for di site

Rescue operations don begin for one collapsed building for Kubwa area of Abuja Nigeria capital, according to local tori.

Reports say na three-storey building wey dey under construction.

Tori be say some pipo wey dey work for di site dey trapped under di collapse.

Di Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) say di incident happun for midnight on Friday and rescue operation dey ongoing.

Residents of Atutu Area, for Kubwa , Abuja di Nigerian capital wake up wit heavy noise as two-storey building collapse.

Eyewitnesses say di building collapse around 11.30 pm for night.

‘We dey seven wey dey inside, five of us bin dey sleep’

One of di survivors Afeez narrate to BBC Pidgin how e happun.

“I be one of di workers wey dey inside di building, we dey seven wey dey inside, five of us bin dey sleep”

“As I dey sleep na im I hear sound, I just jump up open my eyes, I see as di building collapse but e no to affect wia I dey, I come try to escape”

E say e see light from one window and e dey hear oooo voice, na from dat small place e escape.

“I see light from one hole because wia I dey di collapse no press me too much, na so I trace di light through di hole pass the window come out, my second too come out” e add.

E explain say dem rush am go hospital wia dem treat wound for im legs and hand.

So far na five pipe dem don rescue while two still dey trapped.

Oga for Abuja Metropolitan Council , Umar Shuaibu say “na becos of too much load di building collapse”

E add say “di building suppose be only one storey but dem add anoda one ontop”

Di Federal Capital Emergency Management Agency and oda security personnel dey on ground.
