2,617 hajj pilgrims to fly from Tamale to Mecca

The first batch of 2,617 Muslim pilgrims from the three Northern regions will  fly direct from the Tamale International Airport Jedda, Saudi Arabia.
The over 600 pilgrims will leave Ghana on Monday August 6, 2018 to the holy city of Mecca.
This forms part of efforts by government to reduce the stress that pilgrims go through before embarking on the holy Pilgrimage to Mecca.
A member of the Hajj Board, Alhaji Eliasu Haruna in an interview with Adom News’ Northern regional correspondent, Illiasu Abdul Rauf said nine flights are expected to convey 2,617 Hajj pilgrims from Northern region this year.
He noted that, pilgrims have been advised to come to the Hajj village when all their flight arrangements have been completed.
Alhaji Eliasu Haruna indicated that, security has been beefed up to protect the properties of the pilgrims
He added that, two flights are expecting to airlift 601 Hajj pilgrims from Tamale International airport to Mecca.
