The weakness of a Government resides in people the president appoints as his Council of State Members that serve as its advisory board.

I believe that certain privileges or prerogative the constitution gives the president requires serious amendments especially where there is conflict of interest.

Mostly, sworn in presidents appoint their close pals (friends) or family members as Council of State Members which to me as a concerned citizen, I’m expecting the constitution to frown at it with seriousness.

The High office of the president is not a place of chess play where the heart of the people need to be played with, not to talk of appointing most of his political leaders or members as board chairmen or chairpersons of certain governmental institutions. Could that be conflict of interest?

I think it is about time certain positions were advertised for the good people of Ghana who have the technical know how and are responsible with specified certification and experience as citizens to apply for these positions like ambassadorial positions.

If I may ask, what development do ambassadors contribute to the development of Ghana aside welcoming and hosting the president at their various places as government representatives abroad? How much do they return to the country as revenue when outsiders apply for visas to come to Ghana.

Do we have any report on such revenue? What value do they add up to our tourism sector as ambassadors?

It is sad to see Ghanaians’ hard earned paid taxes being wasted all in the name of representing the nation without bringing any development to the nation? If they did, would there have been the need for government to fly his ministers abroad in search of investors?

Why create an institution such as Ghana Investment Promotion Center whiles there is a Ministry for Trade and Industry?

Do you not think these numerous sectors created by government as an institution add up to raise the wage bill of Ghana and therefore causes a serious threat on the nation’s economy?
