Police chase NDC Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election candidate

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police service are on the heels of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ayawaso West Wuogon By Election candidate, Delali Brempong for his alleged use of land guards to terrorize Florence Markuviah, a business woman over a parcel of land at East Legon.

A probe into the matter suggests that Brempong has refused countless invitation by the CID to explain his actions.

Recently, he, in the company of his land guards instructed the police to arrest and detained Francis; a labourer working on the land in question.

As a result, Real Estate Developer, Washington Markuviah has threatened legal action against Delali, over what the Police refers to as unlawful arrest and detention of Francis.

To Washington, Brempong keeps threatening his (Washington) wife over a parcel of land belonging to Madam Florence at Mpehuasem, East Legon
A search at the Lands Commission (Land Registration Division) issued and signed by Jonathan Quaye, assistant Land Administration Officer for director on June 11, 2019 states that ” We wish to inform you that the parcel of land marked A is affected by Land Certificate No GA. 56130 issued to Florence Markuviah in our records.”

Consequently, the Property Fraud Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters, Accra has invited Brempong for questioning after countless threats with land guards over the parcel of land.

Washington said “I have to intervene and release Richard after spending several hours at the Legon Police station.

“Brempong must be brought to book, he has been threatening my wife, Florence with land guards over the parcel of land belonging to her. This is someone who wants to become a lawmaker (MP). I have discussed it with my lawyer and we are dragging her to the law court. He has refused countless police invitations. He is not above the law, he must be checked.”

Brempong is alleged to have connections with some police persons.
