Social media users react as Richard Ofori drops yet another goalkeeping clanger

Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori has been slammed by a section of the public over a goal he conceded during Amazulu’s game against Kaizer Chiefs in the South African League.

During the game, a Kaizer Chiefs player headed the ball from the left side of the penalty box, and Ofori attempted to catch the ball with his left hand but ended up palming it into his net.

This was a shocking moment in the match, with the commentator describing the howler as “unbelievable.”

The incident led to some football fans on social media lambasting Ofori for his poor goalkeeping skills, with some individuals accusing him of intentionally making the mistake because he had placed a bet.

Others ridiculed him and called for his contract to be terminated by Amazulu, citing that his errors would continue to cost the team if he remained in the post.

It will be recalled that Ofori faced vehement criticism after conceding a poor goal in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) against Mozambique, which denied the Black Stars the chance to progress to the knockout stage.
