Slain UK-based Ghanaian woman’s husband escapes death after family stabbing by son
New updates coming in from the members of the Ghanaian community in the United Kingdom, contrary to an earlier report, is that Elder Joshua Obinim, husband to the Ghanaian woman who was killed in a stabbing incident involving their son, is actually alive.
Earlier, GhanaWeb reported that the 43-year-old Ghanaian woman, Alberta Obinim, and her 64-year-old husband, Elder Joshua, had died after being stabbed by their 22-year-old son, as was the information shared by the Ghanaian community in the UK.
The attack, which occurred late Sunday, August 18, 2024, night in their home on Barnard Road, Gorton, has also left their 17-year-old daughter critically injured.
The incident unfolded around 11:20 p.m., when the son, whose name has not been released, allegedly attacked his family with a knife.
The parents sustained life-threatening injuries and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The family’s daughter, who also suffered serious stab wounds, remains in critical condition in the hospital.
The son is said to have been apprehended at the scene and is currently in police custody, suspected of murder.
Members of the Ghanaian community confirmed the tragic news.
Obudo and Alex Appiah Mensah, Ghana Union Chairman in the US and New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK Vice Chairman, shared the news in a video posted on social media.
