Six more secessionists found guilty, convicted
The seven were charged with 18 counts, including attending meetings of a prohibited organization, making contributions to the funds of a prohibited organization, participating in the campaign of a prohibited organization, being a member of a prohibited organization, and possession of arms and ammunition without lawful authority.
After two years of trial, the High Court presided over by Justice Comfort Tasiame, found six of the seven guilty.
The convicts are Kofi Amemako, Abraham Atsu Serworvor, Agbeshie Nyavor, Stanley Gbogbo, Courage Aziedu Numavor, and Enoch Agbenu. William Korsi Ahiabenu was also found guilty.
EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent, Murtala Inusah, who was present during the judgment, reported that one of the accused, Mawuli Amedziko, has been acquitted and discharged after the prosecution failed to prove the charges against him.
Justice Comfort Tasiame is currently hearing mitigation pleas from the defense and prosecution before sentencing.
