Mother and granddaughter suffer acid attack in Northern Region

It has been an all moment of sorrow and agony for little Hadija and her grandmother Nma Sana from Katariga a farming community along the Kumbungu road in the Northern region, who are going through the pain of an acid attack.

The incident happened last Thursday when the Victims were sleeping outside their room within the Compound for fresh air due to the hot weather condition, when a young man within the community who earlier had some argument with the mother of the little girl rushed in with a bottle of substance believed to be acid and poured it onto the two and immediately absconded.

Some neighbours who saw the suspect running out after the act shouted for help, but he was able to escape. He was later apprehended the next day and taken to the police station.

According to close sources, the suspect was released after the intervention of community elders, who opted to settle the matter out of the police station.
