Shatta Wale issues apology to Bullgod over 2022 allegations

Popular dancehall musician Shatta Wale has rendered an unfounded apology to his former manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bullgod, over allegations he made in 2022.

In the apology letter, directed to Bullgod and shared on his socials, Shatta Wale apologised for accusing Bullgod of having a hand in the unsolved murder of artiste manager Fennec Okyere in 2014 and retracted his statements.

The ‘Freedom’ hitmaker also apologised for statements made on November 2, 2022, in which he accused Bullgod and other individuals of immoral conduct.

“On November 2, 2022, I published a series of posts on my social media pages and handles about MR. LAWRENCE NANA ASIAMAH HANSON alias BULLDOG. The publications included a statement that I have now come to know was generally misunderstood or misconstrued as MR. HANSON’s confessions to me that he had a hand in the murder of FENNEC OKYERE (alias FENICKS).

“I wish to retract each of the statements in the said series of publications, as I did not mean to say that MR. HANSON had a hand in the murder of FENNEC OKYERE. I also wish to apologise to MR. HANSON and all the persons whom my publications of November 2, 2022, have caused pain, agony, anguish, shame, ridicule, or hatred,” he posted.

How did it start?⁣

The public sparring began with Shatta Wale accusing Bullgod (then known as Bulldog) and other industry figures of hindering the music industry’s progress, calling for them to be banned.

Shatta Wale dismissed Bullgod as an “errand boy” and accused him of adultery and hiring prostitutes .

The feud took a darker turn in 2022 when Shatta Wale threatened to expose Bullgod’s alleged involvement in the 2014 murder of Fennec Okyere.

Shatta Wale claimed Bullgod had confided in him about the crime and vowed to testify in court.

Bullgod sued Shatta Wale for defamation, seeking damages for the “malicious” claims.

The Ghana Police Service opened an investigation into Shatta Wale’s allegations, though no charges were filed against Bullgod, who was previously arrested but cleared in 2017 due to lack of evidence.

The feud persisted in 2024, with Shatta Wale and Bullgod continuing to trade insults on social media.
