Semenyo, Kudus’ potential move to Liverpool over?

Considerable doubt has been cast over Black Stars duo Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Kudus’ potential move to Liverpool.

Both Semenyo and Kudus have been on Liverpool’s radar as potential replacements for Mohamed Salah, who seemed more likely to leave than stay at the start of 2025.

Salah was on the verge of an exit, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. However, the Egyptian now appears to be “more in than out.”

He has signed a new two-year deal with Liverpool and is set to stay until 2027, extending his spell at the club to a decade.

Liverpool announced the contract extension on Friday, April 11, 2025, as the club legend prepares for a final run-in.

The extension significantly reduces Liverpool’s chances of signing a new winger in the summer, making the signing of Kudus or Semenyo unlikely.

Kudus, who has been on the Reds’ shortlist since his Ajax days, was seen as a direct replacement for Salah due to their similar playing styles.

However, the Ghanaian star has struggled for form this season, scoring just three goals and providing two assists in 25 Premier League games.

Semenyo, on the other hand, was linked with a move to the Merseyside club due to his versatility in playing on both wings and his strong performances for Bournemouth this season.

The former Bristol City striker could still leave Bournemouth, although a move to Liverpool now looks unlikely.

He has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 30 league games.
