‘See proper goalkeeper’ — Fans react as video of Vincent Enyeama’s saves at the World Cup surfaces

Many have tipped Nigeria as favourites as the Super Eagles gear up for the highly anticipated African Cup of Nations scheduled to kick off on January 13.

Despite the flurry of talents at the disposal of coach Jose Peseiro, the goalkeeping department has been an area of concern for football-loving fans of Nigeria.

Goalkeeping blunder caused the three-time African champions at the last edition of the AFCON in Cameroon as Tunisia edged Austin Eguavoen’s side in the last 16 stage.

Another goalkeeping error caused Nigeria the World Cup ticket during the 2022 FIFA World Cup double-header qualifiers against Ghana.

However, the issue of goalkeeping was the least of Nigeria’s problems when the goalpost was being manned by the legendary Vincent Enyeama.

Enyeama, 41, made three FIFA World Cup appearances in 2002, 2010 and in 2014.

A recent video shared on social media courtesy of @OgaNlaMedia shows a compilation of all the former Lille goalkeeper’s remarkable saves at the Mundial.

Enyeama in his three World Cup appearances pulled off decent saves from world-class players like Lionel Messi, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Paul Pogba, Angel Di Maria, Karim Benzema among others.

The video has drawn praise from fans who have taken to X to shower encomiums on the ex-Enyimba goalie.
