Security beefed up as NDC’s Suame Youth Organizer appears in court
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has enhanced security presence at the Asokwa District Court as the Suame Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) has his day in court today.
Razak Koampa Avoliya is expected to answer to charges of offensive conduct as regards a video which captured him making what the police describes as coments inciting political violence.
Several party supporters and executives of the party have massed up at the premises of the court with hash tag ‘I stand for Razak Koampa’ stickers.
The hearing was this morning transferred to the Asokore Mampong Court as unconfirmed reports suggest the police considered the security challenge of hearing a matter of the kind within the stronghold of the NDC.
The party’s regional communications director Abass Nurudeen who spoke to Ulimate News’ Ivan Heathcot – Fumador will not comment on the transfer of the case but only indicated the police reserved the constitutional right to do so and that the party respected same.
