Saudi PIF officials restart talks with Arsenal to sign Thomas Partey

Officials from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) have resumed negotiations with Arsenal to secure the services of Thomas Partey for the upcoming summer, as exclusively reported by Footballghana.com.

Last summer, the Ghanaian midfielder was strongly linked with moves to Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli, and Juventus, but no deal came to fruition.

With the transfer window approaching, PIF officials have re-engaged in discussions with Arsenal to sign the 30-year-old, reportedly offering him a lucrative contract.

In addition to this interest, recent reports have also connected Partey with a potential transfer to the Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Partey’s current contract with Arsenal is set to run until June 2025 and is not anticipated to be extended, with PIF officials actively pursuing the former Atletico Madrid player.

Partey’s 2023-24 season was disrupted by injuries, which limited him to only 16 appearances in all competitions due to hamstring and groin issues.

Having joined Arsenal in a £45 million deal from Atletico Madrid in 2020, the club is now reportedly open to offers between £20 million and £25 million for the midfielder, and a move to the Saudi Pro League seems increasingly probable.

Thomas Partey recently led Ghana to secure victories against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
