Sammy Gyamfi’s Comments; National morality down-CEO of OSBEL LMT
The Chief Executive Officer of OSBEL limited Mr. Albert Osei Owusu has described the statement made by the director of communication for National Democratic Congress (NDC) as unfortunate and attributed it to the broken down of national morality.
Sammy Gyamfi is reportedly to have made a statement during NDC’s press conference held in Accra on Wednesday January 16, 2019 describing the president Nana Addo- Dankwa Akufo Addo, first lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo, finance minister Mr. Ken Ofori Atta as careless, corrupt and greediest political figures in Ghana.
He warned politicians to be cautious of words they use when addressing issues confronting us as a nation.
Speaking to OTEC news reporter Isaac Nsiah Foster, Mr. Albert Osei Owusu said now Sammy Gyamfi has been called to the BAR, he must know how to address issues without insulting the elders of this country.
“If people will capitalize on freedom of speech to insult the elderly without any tangible cause in the name of politics, then we must review that section of the law, if not it will be creating conflict in the near future” Mr Osei Owusu suggested.
“As a young lawyer you must know how to address elderly in the society otherwise the younger generation will emulate what our forefathers described as a taboo, for the young ones to insult the elderly”, he told Sammy Gyamfi.
He further cautioned if the traditional supremacy fail to intervene by calling the various political authorities to revert to the traditional way of addressing leaders and of course elderly ones, it will get to a time Ghana could turn to be like Nigeria where conflicts is in almost every spectrum of society.
