Roberto Carlos sleeping at Real Madrid training ground amid divorce battle with ex-wife

Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos has taken the surprising step of moving into the club’s training ground following his split from his wife of 15 years, Mariana Lucon.

The 51-year-old football icon married Lucon in 2009, and they share two daughters, Manuela and Mariana. However, according to Estadio Deportivo, the couple has now parted ways.

The divorce proceedings between Roberto Carlos and Mariana Lucon are expected to be complex, given Carlos’ estimated fortune of approximately €160 million (£133 million).

Reports indicate that Lucon remains in their primary residence, while her parents occupy Carlos’ second property. As a result, the former Real Madrid defender has temporarily relocated to the club’s Valdebebas training ground.

Carlos enjoyed a storied 11-year career with Real Madrid, securing four LaLiga titles and three Champions League trophies between 1996 and 2007. He also won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002.
