The spate of Ghanaian involvement in knife-violence in the United Kingdom either as victims or offenders has become alarming.

Reports say about 120 Ghanaians between the ages of 14 and 22 were stabbed to death in London last year alone.

The endless list of knife and gun crime victims and the high number of offenders in the United Kingdom who are Ghanaians have hyped the genuine concern of many including a non-governmental Organization, Ghana Baako.

The leader of the group, Kwaku Appiah on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme Thursday disclosed that three months into 2019, official figures from the police reveal that 20 teenagers have been fatally stabbed in London.

He bemoaned how the lives of the younger generation of Ghanaians living in the UK are being lost, unnecessarily, to violent crimes.

Mr Appiah said his outfit had petitioned the House of Commons, all in the bid to fighting the scourge and to remove violent criminals and weapons from the streets.

“We are also working tirelessly with the Met Police, community and youth groups, health and education services, and local and national government on preventing young people getting dragged into the world of violent crimes,“ he added.
