Report lawless Police Officers; we’ll sanction them – Police chief begs public

The Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Paul Manly Awini is urging the public to be bold and feel free to report any police officer who flouts the country’s laws with impunity since no one is above the law.

He assured the general public that, the police is their friend so if they have any challenge with any police officer, they should approach any superior officer, assuring them that issue will be addressed professionally regardless of the person involved.

DCOP Manly Awini made this known at the Ghana Police week celebration at Central Regional Police headquarters in Cape Coast where hundreds of people including officers and men of the Ghana Police service led by the regional Commander took part.

Colleagues from sister security organizations and other organized groups including the Fire Service, Immigration, Prison service, Ghana Teachers Association (GNAT), Ghana Health Service, religious groups, members of University of Cape Coast (UCC) communities among others marched through principal streets of Cape Coast to mark the police week celebration.

DCOP Manly Awini in his address stated: “you have shown a very high of energy and this is the testimony to the fact that you are prepared to work more than ever before to bring about development to mother Ghana”.

The police week celebration was held under the theme” Renewing Police Public partnership for safer communities”

According to the Police Chief, the theme is very crucial and key in bringing about development in the country since maintaining law and order and security is a shared responsibility between the police and the public.

DCOP Manly Awini observed that the country cannot progress or develop if there is a situation of lawlessness, disorder and insecurity

In view of this, he underscored the need for the security agencies to join hands with the residents to mark the celebration foster good ties.
