Every year, former U.S. President Barack Obama shares his favorite songs, and for 2024, Nigerian artists Rema and Asake made the list.
Obama posted his favorite songs on social media after sharing his favorite movies and books for the year. Some of the songs on his list are Rema’s “YAYO,” Asake and Travis Scott’s “Active,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Squabble Up,” Billie Eilish’s “Lunch,” Beyonce’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and Tyla, Gunna & Skillibeng’s “Jump,” among others.
He wrote, “Here are my favorite songs from this year! Check them out if you’re looking to shake up your playlist – and let me know if there’s a song or artist I should make sure to listen to.”
Earlier this year, he shared his summer playlist, which included Charli XCX’s “365,” Tems’ “Love Me Jeje,” Saweetie’s “My Best,” and GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be.” He also included some classic songs like the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” Blackstreet’s “No Diggity,” and 2Pac’s “How Do U Want It.”
