PHOTOS: Driver shot by armed robber at Gomoa

A 32-year-old Abossey Okai macho driver has been shot in the head by a person suspected to be an armed robber at Gomoa Kweikrom in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

According to the police, the driver was hired by one Frederick Kweku Gyan from Agona Kwanyarko to Gomoa Kweikrom to cart some ‘Wawa’ board from the forest.

The Ojobi District Police Commander ASP David Osei Foffie who disclosed this to Adom News said Fredrick shot the driver with a locally manufactured pistol in the head and drove off his car with registration number, GR 4326-10.

“We were at the charge office on Friday, December 1, 2018, when the driver with blood all over his head came to lodge the complaint,” he explained.

ASP Foffie added that the suspect, Fredrick Gyan, has since been arrested but the driver is in Coma, receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialists Hospital.

He urged drivers to be vigilant as Christmas is approaching because most criminals have changed their strategies.
