Rain, thunderstorms expected across Ghana tonight – Ghana Meteo forecasts

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has forecast mostly cloudy weather conditions for much of the country today, with localized thunderstorms and rain expected in the afternoon and evening hours.

GMet noted that mist or fog patches formed over coastal, forested and mountainous areas during the early morning, reducing visibility in those zones.

Light to moderate rain is also likely in parts of the north, forest, and coastal belts.

As the day progresses, GMet says most areas will experience cloudy conditions interspersed with brief spells of sunshine.

However, thunderstorms or rain of varying intensities are anticipated over large parts of the country in the late afternoon into the evening.

Cities like Accra, Cape Coast, Kasoa, and Ho are expected to experience rain by evening, while towns including Yendi, Tamale, Bolgatanga, and Wa may see scattered thunderstorms with rain.

Meanwhile, the state of the sea has been classified as rough, prompting a call for caution for those engaging in maritime activities.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency continues to advise the public to take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to flooding and reduced visibility due to rain or fog.
