Prof. Jane Naana takes lead as Asiedu Nketia struggles to gain ground in NDC’s 2028 presidential race

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is facing an uphill battle in the party’s 2028 presidential race, according to the latest Global InfoAnalytics poll.

The survey shows Asiedu Nketia has garnered just 10% of voter support, placing him outside the top three contenders for the NDC flagbearership.

Leading the race is the current Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, with 26% of voter preference.

She is closely followed by the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, with 19%, and the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ato Forson, who ranks third with 12%.

Asiedu Nketia shares fourth place with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, both polling at 10%.

Other notable figures in the race include Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, who both secured 6% of voter support.

The results highlight that while Asiedu Nketia remains an influential figure within the NDC, he faces significant competition from more prominent candidates in the race for the party’s presidential ticket for the 2028 general election.
