Prof Gyampo condemns military ‘aide’ for Akufo-Addo’s lawyer Frank Davies

Prof. Ransford Gampo, a Lecturer at the University of Ghana Political Science Department has questioned why a Military officer will be made to be carrying the bag of a private legal practitioner.

A photo of a Lawyer and a Military Officer who was carrying his bag to court has gone viral on all social media platforms.

Reacting to the photo, Ransford Gyampo who is a political Science lecturer indicated that It is not the duty of any soldier to be carrying the bag of any private legal practitioner to court.

According to him, Defending the territorial integrity of any country does not include body-guarding civilian appointees.

He indicated that these gestures demoralizes the Police and cause their public disrespect.

Gyampo thinks that if “the Police is weak and can no longer offer such services as providing security for appointees and private people, the way to go is to strengthen them and check how we recruit people there”.

We have no business “civilianizing” our soldiers. It would come back to haunt us.
