Pregnant Women urged to seek regular health care

The managing director of VEDNAN MEDICAL and Natural health Center at Kenyasi in the Kwabre District of of Ashanti region, Mrs. Boadu Boateng Aning, has adviced pregnant women to attend regular antenatal clinic in order to detect any abnormality during the pregnancy.

She noted that regular antenatal care is one of the major means to fighting the increasing rate of maternal mortality and called on the media to embark on intensive education on the need for pregnant women to go for consistent medical check ups

. Mrs. Boateng Aning in an interview with Otec news reporter, Jacob Agyenim Boateng, urged other stakeholders and health professionals to encourage and support pregnant women to visit health facilities in the early stages of their pregnancy.

She bemoaned the behaviour of some pregnant women who seek medical care at self acclaimed native doctors in the various rural areas.

The MD for VEDNAN MEDICAL and Natural Health clinic expressed worry about the way some health practitioners look down on patients, especially pregnant women.

She consequently urged nurses in particular to desist from such appalling behaviour and show love and care to all their clients as the tenets of the nursing profession depicts.
