A well-known Mallam from Kakpayili near Bamvim, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region, has been arrested by the police for allegedly engaging in ritual killing.

The suspect, Afa Abdul Rahman Madaha, is accused of killing two children who went missing a few days ago in Tamale.

Residents suspected ritual killings when the bodies of the children were found in an abandoned car at the suspect’s house, prompting them to set the house ablaze.

According to DailyGuideNetwork.com, the Assemblyman for Kakpayili Electoral Area, Hafiz Andani, confirmed the incident.

He explained that twin boys and their friend had gone to the suspect’s house, but only one of the twins returned home.

The mother of the twins asked the boy about his brother’s whereabouts, and he revealed that his brother and their friend had stayed back at the suspect’s house.

When the boys did not return, the mother raised an alarm about their disappearance. Although the suspect was questioned, he denied knowing their whereabouts.

An informant then told the parents that the children were in the suspect’s house. This led residents to storm Madaha’s house, arrest him, and take him to the chief’s palace.

The Assemblyman reported that residents threatened to lynch the suspect, but the police intervened and rescued him.

Further investigations revealed that the body parts of the victims were found in an abandoned car at the suspect’s house.

The police subsequently arrested the suspect and transported the remains of the victims to the Tamale Teaching Hospital mortuary for preservation.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
