The Ejisu Divisional Police Command has commenced investigations into the murder of a 15-year-old Senior High School (SHS) student at Ejisu Gyamasi in the Ejisu municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Divisional Police Commander, ACP Stephen Tane Ngissah, told Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah that no arrest has been made yet but one suspect is on the radar of the police.
The decomposing body of Linda Akansa was found on Friday, 21 June 2019 in a bush near an uncompleted building in the community.
Her sandals were found about 5 metres away from the crime scene with parts of her hair shaved.
The Juabeng SHS 2 student got missing for a week during her school’s short vacation period.
The Unit Committee Chairman of the area, Asonaba Kwaku Amoah told Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah that the deceased had struggled with her captors before her death, judging from the look of the crime scene.
ACP Ngissah said Linda’s murder is the second case recorded in about two years in the community.
He said the command is making every effort to get the murderers arrested.
ACP Ngissah pleaded with the general public to assist the police with information regarding the murder.
