Police officer killed in ambush by robbers, 2 others injured

A police patrol team was ambushed by armed robbers at Kwame Peprakrom in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region on September 28, 2024, resulting in one police officer being killed and two others sustaining injuries.

According to a myjoyonline.com report, the deceased, identified as Evans, was attached to the Dunkwa Divisional Police Headquarters Armory.

Despite the details being scanty, reports indicate that the robbery attack, which resulted in a fatality, occurred between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m.

The injured officers were rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for urgent medical care.

Meanwhile, the police have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, and the whereabouts of the suspects remain unknown at the time of this report.
