Every time he played, the beloved Brazilian was a showman.

Ronaldinho’s skills inspired people worldwide, and he sits on the throne of players you couldn’t despise.

That made the ex-Barcelona forward’s collapse so heartbreaking for football fans.

After entering Paraguay with fake passports, Ronaldinho and his brother were detained in 2020.

Ronaldinho’s five-month journey

He was sentenced to house arrest after 32 days in Paraguayan prison. He was investigated for four months in a luxurious hotel in Asuncion.

After a judge ordered Ronaldinho and his brother to pay a £153,000 fine, his five-month journey ended in August 2020.

Two years before his arrest, The Sun reported from Spain that Ronaldinho had £5 in his bank account and was close to bankruptcy after a huge fine for illegal construction in Brazil.

Ronaldinho turned his life around after being freed from prison.

El Pais reported last year that Ronaldinho had made almost 5 million Brazilian reals (£702,407) in the four months following his release from prison.

Ronaldinho’s transformation

The World Cup winner made savvy business moves fast.

He promoted Atletico Mineiro’s new stadium for a Minas Gerais corporation. The 46,000-capacity arena opened next year after construction began in 2020.

Ronaldinho opened a Belo Horizonte music studio. His music video with Recayd Mob and rapper Djonga garnered one million views in a week.

Ronaldinho next tried alcohol. R-ONE, his organic gin brand, followed Vino de Campeones.

Travel and bookmaker ads have featured the 42-year-old.

He plays e-Sports. Ronaldinho founded R10, a FIFA tournament squad, in 2019.

In March 2022, he uploaded an Instagram photo of himself in all white next to a Rolls-Royce.

“A difficult stage is coming to an end, thank God,” Ronaldinho wrote in the documentary’s trailer. I cannot thank you enough for your care and assistance in recent months.”

It’s fantastic to see him up and smiling again.

His appearance at a Barcelona-Real Madrid legends match in Israel last year was very enjoyable.
