Police kill 2 robbers in a gun battle at Asankragua

Two suspected armed robbers have been killed in a gun battle at Adowahu, a suburb in the Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region.

The Asankragua Division of the Ghana Police disclosed to this portal that the armed Robbers were four in number trailing a Chinese man whom they suspect was carrying gold.

The Police upon tip-off rushed to the place and the robbers upon seeing the officers exchanged fire with them.

In the process, two of the robbers were shot dead and one police officer severely injured but the other two suspected robbers managed to escape into the bush.

The police officer whose name is being withheld is currently at the Asankragwa Roman Catholic Hospital receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, the Police say they are investigating the incident while efforts are underway to apprehend the other two suspects said to be on the run.

The bodies of the deceased suspected robbers have been deposited at the Asankragwa Roman Catholic Hospital.
