Police gun down two suspected armed robbers

Two suspected armed robbers have been gunned down in a shootout with the police, MyNewsGh.com can report.

The suspects who have been on the police wanted list, were and were involved in several other robberies in Tema, Ashaiman, Afienya and Mataheko areas.

Police reveal that had intelligence that suspects Kwetey Jacob 24-years-old and Toufic 24-years-old who were involved in robberies around Kofi Annan Villa, Lakeside, Adenta on November 27, 2018, and Afienya on a Susu collector on December 4, 2018, were planning another robbery in their hideout at New York Atadeka.

Undercover Policemen managed and infiltrated into their hideout where there was an exchange of fire between the police and the suspected robbers.

But they were overpowered by the Police and were gunned down. Items retrieved from a back-pack Kwetey was wearing included 5 mobile phones, 1 Samsung iPad, 1 locally manufactured gun which Kwetey fired, and other ones found were, 1 Okapi knife, 2 BB live cartridges, a lighter, a black royal motorbike and cash of GHC 601.00.

Their bodies have been deposited at the Police hospital morgue.
