Police Commander, 2 others bathed with hot pot of soup by irate residents

The Police Commander for Assin Praso in the North Municipality of the Central Region, Superintendent Isaac Tetteh and his two subordinates were on Thursday night bathed with a pot of hot soup in an attempt to arrest some irate youth of the area for attacking a rival group.

MyNewsGh.com confirmed that a lady who was hiding the suspects in her room, emptied the hot contents of the pot on the police chief and his assignees who tried arresting the suspects.

According to the facts as revealed to MyNewsGh.com, disagreements over the management of a rural water project in the area had led to some violence leading to the butchering of one person.

An official complaint was lodged with the police who managed to arrest the suspects behind the act but their relations aggrieved over the arrest, went to attack the victim’s family.

The police therefore went to arrest the suspects but in the process, the unknown lady who was obstructing them from carrying out their lawful duty, poured the hot soup on Superintendent Isaac Tetteh.

Two other policemen including Corporal Rawuf Seidu and another were also attacked in the process leaving them with various degrees of injuries.

The police however managed to arrest four persons who are in their custody assisting them with investigations while there is a hunt for their accomplices said to be on the run.
