Police arrest man who slaughtered his brother

Police have arrested Yire – Naa Lawrence, the man who slashed the neck of his brother Kwame with a cutlass, at Machine – Dor Krom and bolted, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

The suspect who was hiding in a village close to Yefri all in the Bono East Region after the dastardly act was arrested by a search party and handed to the police.

The cutlass he used on the deceased which was still in his possession had also been retrieved according to the Kintampo North Municipal Police Commander, DSP C. K. Dogbatse who was already in the village with the case officer and two other officers on enquiries.

He has since taken custody of the suspect and exhibit and brought them to Busunya Station for investigation.

It would be recalled that MyNewsGh.com on Tuesday reported of how police in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Bono East region had mounted a search the suspect in his mid-30s who slaughtered his brother soon after they had dinner over what is yet to be established.

According to the police who confirmed the unfortunate incident to MyNewsGh.com, the incident occurred on Sunday, March 17, 2019, soon after both had eaten together and were readying themselves to retire to bed.

The suspect took a cutlass and slashed the head of his other brother who was resting on a bench resulting in the untimely death of also believed to be in his mid-30s.

MyNewsGh.com gathered from the police that the suspect after the unfortunate incident fled the community but has since been arrested.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue while the police reveal that they have intensified search for the suspect who is believed to be hiding in neighbouring communities to face the full rigours of the law according to local journalist Ahadzi Emmanuel.
