Please don’t forget your promise – Former YOLO actor John Peasah appeals to Bawumia over treatment

Ghanaian actor John Peasah, renowned for his role as Drogba in the TV series YOLO, has taken to social media to remind vice-president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of a promise made regarding treatment for his health condition.

”I want to use this opportunity to thank the vice president of the land @mbawumia for honoring my visit to his office and also to thank him for the visit to my house and the support,” he posted.

The former YOLO actor who was revealed to have been battling with demyelination for over two years, took to Instagram on August 2, 2024, to express his gratitude to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his support.

Despite appearing well, Peasah revealed he still is suffering from severe, inexplicable pain and reminded the Vice President of his promise to facilitate treatment abroad.

”I would like to say that I might look better but inwardly I’m in an excruciating pain…this pain is not explainable!!! Please I want to remind him not to forget his promise for my treatment outside…Thank you,” he shared.

His emotional update has received an outpouring of support from fans who continue to wish him well.

What happened?

In March 2024, it was revealed that John Peasah was battling a serious health condition called demyelination, which affects the nervous system and can impact vision, coordination, and sensation.

His sister, Hannah Mensah, shared that Peasah’s health issues emerged during the final season of ‘YOLO’.

In response to his condition, there has been a significant show of support, including a visit and financial contributions from Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, and Drogba’s friends.

A fundraising campaign was also initiated to help cover the costs of his treatment abroad.
