(Photos & Video) Late Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai IV’s funeral
The Abudu royal family enskinned the Bolin-Lana as the Regent of Dagbon on Friday, 14 December 2018 in line with the customs and traditions that must be performed to commence the funeral of his late father, Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai IV.
The Abudu family signed an undertaking the previous day in connection with the rites and officially took over the temporary Gbewa Palace to begin the funeral rites of the late king.
A symbolic gun salute was observed amidst drumming and dancing to commemorate the takeover of the Gbewa Palace.
Hundreds of indigenes of Dagbon and foreign tourists gathered in the Yendi Municipality to observe the royal ceremony.
High profile divisional and paramount chiefs of the Abudu family also converged on Yendi for the occasion.
Vo Na, Alhaji M. B. Bawah of the Andani family, confirmed the participation of some chiefs of the Andani family.
He disclosed that the Abudus officially invited them to support the funeral arrangements.
