Photos of ‘military men’ reportedly behind raid of Ken Ofori-Atta’s residence emerge

Photos of some persons in military uniforms and civilian clothing, who are reportedly behind the raid of the home of former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, have emerged.

The photos, which have been shared by a number of media houses, including JoyNews and ChannelOne TV, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, show at least five people in military uniforms at the home reported to be that of Ofori-Atta.

The visuals also show someone who looks like businessman, Richard Jakpa, a security operative of the ruling National Democratic Congress.

The photos also show the men in military uniforms, some with their faces covered, and the one who looked like Jakpa, at the supposed compound of Ofori-Atta.

One of the pictures shared by ChannelOne TV showed the Jakpa-lookalike climbing a staircase in the home of Ofori-Atta.

The emergence of the visuals comes after the Office of the Special Prosecutor declared Ken Ofori-Atta a wanted person.

The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, addressing a press conference on Wednesday, refuted claims that it raided the home of Ofori-Atta, whom he described as a fugitive.

He added that the intelligence suggests that the raid at Ofori-Atta’s residence was staged.

“Our intelligence points us to state that the purported raid on Mr Ofori-Atta’s residence was staged or at best an imposter action in an attempt to court disfavour for the OSP and to derail the investigation,” he said.
