Two armed robbers gunned down in shootout with Police

The Police in Sefwi Abrabra in the Western North region has gunned down two armed robbers in a shoot out.

According to the Police, they picked up information that the robbers were hiding in the forest at Sefwi Abrabra and were ready for an operation.

Together with the town folks, the Regional Anti-Robbery Unit led by the Station Manager proceeded into the forest in search of the robbers.

Upon sensing danger, the robbers who were four in number began firing gushots at the Police.

The Police engaged them in a gun battle and killed one whose name is given as Baba in the process whiles one other robber Mohammed sustained several gun injuries.

Although Mohammed was rushed to the Sefwi Wiaso Government Hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Two suspects, one of which sustained managed to escape.

The Police retrieved one AK47 assault riffle, 40live AK47 ammunitions and GHC 300 cash upon conducting a search on them.
