Partey returns to Atlético Madrid after AFCON participation

Ghana star Thomas Partey is the latest player to join pre-season training at Atlético Madrid.

The Black Stars midfielder was given some time off following his outing with his National team at the just-ended Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament held in Egypt.

As a result, he missed the Rojiblancos’ tour of US where they played three friendly games.

The team is currently in Mexico where they will be rounding off their tour with another friendly before returning to Madrid.

On Saturday, Partey reported to the club’s training facilities to get in shape ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

Diego Simeone’s men will be hoping to improve on their second place finish in La Liga last season.
