Partey replies critical Atletico Madrid fans with Chinese philosophy after elimination

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has replied bullish Athletico Madrid fans with a quote from Chinese philosopher Lao Tsu following the club’s elimination in the Copa del Rey.

Thomas Partey was heavily criticised by the Rojiblancos fans after their 3-3 draw with Girona on Wednesday which led to their shock elimination from the competition.

Fans of Athletico Madrid blame Partey for not being defensive enough to prevent the build up to Girona’s third goal.

However, a philosophical Partey took to social media to reply them in a subtle quote from the famous Chinese Philosopher.

He posted on Instagram, “Do not mix bad words with your bad mood. You will have many chances to change your mood, but never the opportunity to rectify the words you used. ”

Atlético Madrid were booted out of the competition on the away goal ruling after the first leg ended 1-1 at the Estadio Montilivi.

Atletico made the perfect start through Nikola Kalinic’s opener.

Valery Fernandez and Cristhian Stuani struck to swing the tie Girona’s way before Angel Correa’s equaliser.

Antoine Griezmann’s goal looked to have put the hosts into the next round but Seydou Doumbia scored with two minutes left to send Girona through.
