Parliament summons FIFA Normalization Committee

Parliament has summoned officials of the FIFA Normalisation Committee over the recent impasse at the football body.

This comes on the back of a lifetime ban handed former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi by the world football governing body.

The officials are expected to appear before the Sports Committee of Parliament on Tuesday.

In a related development, the Sports Ministry has referred a case involving a former Sports Minister to the National Security for investigation.

The former minister, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, was referred to the security body over some GHC 1.6 million he allegedly paid to a contractor by the previous administration.

The payment was supposed to be for the construction of the New Edubiase Sports Stadium but the payment wasn’t captured in 2015 and 2016 budget statements.
