Over 80,000 cashew seedlings to be distributed to farmers

The Bole District Assembly in the Northern Region has raised over eighty thousand cashew seedlings for distribution to farmers under the planting for export programme.

The seedlings are to be distributed to nearly one thousand famers in the area.

According to the District Chief Executive, Veronica Alele Heming, the assembly has also supported farmers in the area with training to equip them with skills to effectively manage their cashew plantation and ensure success.

Speaking to Radio Ghana in Bole, she noted that cashew has the potential to create thousands of jobs in the area as it is well adapted to the climate of the district.

Madam Alele therefore called on the youth in the area to take advantage of government’s policies to create jobs for themselves and reduce poverty in the district.
