I Never Promised A Jet For Kotoko- Home Boy Clarifies

A Member of Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko Football Club, Mr. Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, aka Home Boy, has denied media reports suggesting that he has promised on behalf of the board to buy a private jet for the club.

Mr. Genfi, who is also the Board Chairman of EximBank Ghana, said the said report was a complete misrepresentation of what he actually meant when he granted the interview.

“Obviously a wrong impression was created,” He said

According to him, he only made a wish, when the reporter sought to find out the kind of legacy he and his colleagues on the Board of the club wished to leave behind to which “I answered that it will be our wish that by the time we exit, we would have secured a befitting Stadium and probably a private jet for the club”

He further explained “I never in the cause of the interview, made any categorical promise that the board was considering the purchase of a new jet for Asante Kotoko Football Club”

“I only made a wish for the club that by the time we are leaving, we would have done so so and so for the famous but that cannot be explained as being a plan on the table” Mr. Genfi emphasized.

According to the Board Member of the club, Asante Kotoko as a team has lots of pressing need that ought to be attended to, adding that buying a jet is certainly not part of it”

He, therefore, advised the media to be circumspect in their reportage and avoid sensationalism.
