Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has sworn in three chiefs to occupy stools which have been vacant for years in the Asante Kingdom.
The installation ceremony for the Asante Akyem Akyease, Jachie and Atwima Mpatasie chiefs took place at the Manhyia palace on Thursday, 11 April 2019.
The Asante Akyem Akyease and Jachie stools have been vacant for 12 and six years, respectively, while the Atwima Mpatasie stool has been vacant for eleven years.
Nana Tabono Bonsu II, a hospital administrator known privately as Emmanuel Kwaku Sarpong, was enstooled as the chief of Asante Akyem Akyease while Baffour Amoateng IV, a banker known privately as Peter Oppong, was enstooled as the chief of Jachie.
Nana Krobea Asante Amoateng II, a businessman known privately as Kofi Asante, was also enstooled as the chief of Atwima Mpatasie.
Speaking at the swearing in ceremony, the Asantehene advised the chiefs to prioritise education and contribute their quota to the development of their respective communities.
