Otto Addo makes a special wish on his 49th birthday

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, celebrated his 49th birthday today, on June 9, 2024. The Black Stars players, along with the technical staff, marked the occasion at the team’s hotel in Kumasi.

The group sang, cheered, and presented a cake to the manager during their lunch.

The former Borussia Dortmund player was then invited to give a speech and share his wish for the day. He expressed that a victory over the Central African Republic would be the best gift.

“My birthday wish is for us to win against CAR tomorrow. That would be the greatest gift,” he stated.

The Black Stars of Ghana are set to face the Central African Republic (CAR) on matchday 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Monday, June 10, 2024.

Ghana aims to secure another win after defeating Mali in their previous match, maintaining their path towards World Cup qualification.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
