The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) is set to commence an online voter exhibition exercise on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
The EC has offered two means through which registered voters can use to check their details:
1. Mobile Short Code:
The commission has indicated that registered voters can use the short code *711*51# on all mobile networks in the country.
After entering the short code, voters are expected to enter their 10-digit Voter ID number to receive their voter registration details.
This medium for voters to check their details, the commission has indicated, would come at no cost.
2. EC Website:
The second means of checking registration details provided by the commission is its website – https://ec.gov.gh.
Registered voters on the website are expected to click on the pop-up link at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
After clicking the pop-up, voters are to enter the 10-digit Voter ID number to receive their voter registration details.
3. Political party template:
The EC has also provided political parties with a template they should use to submit discrepancies they find in the register.
Deadline:
The commission has stated that the deadline for the exercise is Saturday, 19th October, 2024.
The EC urged voters to report all the issues they find in the register to its district offices where they registered for the appropriate measures to be taken.
It added that all anomalies with voters’ details in the register should be reported during the period set for the re-exhibition exercise.
“The Public should note that any discrepancies identified must be reported to the District Office of the Commission where they are registered voters for correction. Once the Re-Exhibition Exercise ends on Saturday, 19th October, voters will still be able to check their details Online but CANNOT request for correction of their details,” it cautioned.
